I’m conflicted about mandals. I learned long ago that it’s a gigantic fashion faux pas for men to show their feet, ever. The rule stems from men who improperly groom their toes, resulting in some gnarly stuff happening. (See below.)
BUT, here’s the conflict: why should men be constrained by the tyranny of sweaty closed-toe shoes during the summer while women laze about, their feet properly ventilated?
I propose something radical. Men should be allowed to wear mandals, (I know, I’m shocked that I’m even typing this), but ONLY under two conditions: 1.) they undergo the same grooming methods as women, getting rigorous pedicures throughout the summer, and 2.) they carefully select tasteful footwear.
